Photography

My love for photography started at a very young age. I have always loved the creative aspect of photography and the ability to express yourself and your specific artistic "mark". I began getting heavily involved in photography in high school when I took my first photography class, Photography as Art. We used old-fashioned film cameras where we had to physically develop black and white photographs that we took. After taking this, I realized how much I had fallen in love with this hobby and took the rest of the photography classes my high school offered which included Photography as Art II, Digital Photography and Media I and II and Yearbook. It was through these classes that my artistic ability was able to gain recognition with our school and local businesses and newspapers. I was asked to be the head of photography and images for our yearbook senior year, where I was able to take candid photos, action sports shots, interview pictures, and many more. I was ecstatic the day I received the completed year book to see how many of my photographs had made it in several different sections of the book.

Throughout high school, I wanted to take pictures of everything. I took my camera and GoPro almost everywhere I went, always looking for new people, places, and objects to shoot. Around my sophomore year of high school, I began falling in love with videography as well. I began videotaping my dad water skiing and coming up with creative videos and elements to show him how fantastic of a skier he was. Since that day, I still continue to record videos of my travel, friends, etc. This hobby has created such an important creative outlet for me and a great way to express myself in ways many other hobbies cannot.
